Learning About Conservation

At The Way Inn, we believe that caring for children also means helping them care for the world they live in.

Victoria Falls is one of the most breathtaking places on Earth—surrounded by wildlife, natural beauty, and landscapes that draw visitors from all over the world. Many of the children who come to The Way Inn will one day work in local tourism and hospitality, industries that depend entirely on the health of this environment.

That’s why we place great importance on helping the children learn about conservation and environmental responsibility. These lessons aren't just about plants and animals—they're about their future, their livelihoods, and the sacred beauty of the land they call home.

Children in the Wilderness

Children in the Wilderness

To support this learning, we’re proud to be closely connected with Children in the Wilderness—an environmental and life-skills education programme that helps children from rural communities understand the value of their natural heritage.

Children in wilderness

Through eco-clubs in schools, community projects, and bush camps, this incredible initiative gives our children real-world experiences that inspire a lifelong respect for nature. Some of our kids have even had the unforgettable opportunity to go on wilderness camps—seeing the beauty of Africa’s wild places up close, guided by passionate conservationists.

These experiences stay with them. They broaden perspectives, build confidence, and spark a sense of responsibility that could shape the future of Zimbabwe’s natural heritage.

“We want our children to grow up not just knowing where they live, but understanding why it matters—and how to protect it.”
