Founder Jan Vivian felt a clear and powerful calling from God—to “feed and care for those who have no one and nowhere.” It wasn’t limited to children, but to anyone in need. That vision stayed with her for years until it could no longer be ignored.
With quiet determination and deep faith, we opened the doors of The Way Inn to a few children in need. The response was immediate, and the need kept growing. Today, The Way Inn supports 37 children, offering them meals, education, and a place where they are loved and known by name.
In 2024, thanks to remarkable generosity and God’s provision, we were able to purchase a dedicated house to become the new home for The Way Inn. While we are no longer in the original church building, our connection with Victory Church remains strong. The church continues to be a faithful and valued partner in our work.

If Jan is the founder, then Sophie is the heart of The Way Inn. A warm and big-hearted Christian woman and faithful member of the Victory Church congregation, Sophie runs the home with wisdom, patience, and boundless compassion.
Sophie supervises the two cooks who come in on alternate days to prepare the meals. But her role goes far beyond food. Sophie is a steady and loving presence for the children—especially for the young girls, who trust her and look to her for guidance, comfort, and the kind of life advice that only a mother figure can give.
Her faith, strength, and day-to-day commitment make her an irreplaceable part of The Way Inn family.
We believe that raising children to love and respect their environment is as important as feeding them today. That’s why we’ve formed a close relationship with the Children in the Wilderness program—an initiative that helps our kids learn about conservation and the environment.
In a place like Victoria Falls, where tourism and nature are so deeply connected, these lessons will stay with them for life.
